Jaws by Peter Benchley

Every now and then, you run across a movie that is better than the book. Jaws is one of those situations. I have seen the 1975 film numerous times. It is a viewing tradition with my wife on the 4th of July. Since I decided to work my way through classics, including some modern classics, I decided to pick it up.

I was a little disappointed about the way the book progressed. Due to the familiarization you have with the movie characters, the differences in book made me feel cheated by these characters.

Read the book to see how the story was originally envisioned. Watch the movie to see how it was perfected.

Darkly,

Vic Kerry
